About me

I am passionate about helping people because I recognize the value and importance of mental and emotional well-being. I understand that everyone faces challenges and struggles at some point in their lives, and seeking help from a trained counsellor can be a transformative experience. I am motivated by the desire to make a positive difference in people's lives, to help them overcome obstacles, and to guide them towards a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I am empathic and compassionate, and dedicated to helping others navigate through life's challenges with greater resilience, self-awareness, and personal growth. Seeing my clients make progress and achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding, and it drives me to continue to provide the best possible care and support to those in need.

I completed my BA Psychological Counselling degree as well as my BA Hons Psychology. In 2019 I joined the Lifeline family where I gained practical experience in counselling. At Lifeline I received training on topics such as trauma counselling, rape counselling, suicide counselling, ethics training, gender based violence and abuse, couples and relationship, and emotions. I also have certificates in Dealing with Reconstructed Families (TIRA-SA), Introduction to Psychologically Motivated Crimes: Serial Offences (Dr. Gerard Labuschagne, identifying paraphilias (Dr. Gerard Labuschagne), Suicide awareness and prevention (Vista Academy), Borderline Personality disorder vs Bipolar disorder + De-escalation techniques (Vista Academy), On veils and vulnerability: A Psychoanalytic approach to the diagnosis and treatment of narcissism (Vista Academy).

Individual counselling

Couples/Relationships counselling

Relationship or couples counselling is a transformative experience that is all about you and your partner. It's an opportunity for both of you to come together, hand in hand, and embark on a journey of healing and growth. With the unwavering support of a trained counsellor, you and your partner delve into the depths of your relationship, uncovering and addressing the issues that have been causing discord.

 In the intimate setting of couples counselling, you and your partner have a safe haven to express your deepest thoughts, emotions, and concerns. The therapist serves as a compassionate guide, offering insights and strategies to help you navigate the challenges you face. Together, you work on developing effective communication skills, learning to truly listen to one another, and finding constructive ways to resolve conflicts.

 The goal of relationship/couples counselling is to strengthen the foundation of your relationship. It's about creating a solid bond, built on trust, understanding, and mutual respect. Trauma counselling

Trauma counseling is a lifeline for individuals like you and me who have faced the harrowing impact of traumatic events. Through the skilled guidance of a compassionate counsellor, we embark on a structured journey of exploration and healing. 

In the intimate space of TIR, our counsellor becomes our trusted ally, walking beside us as we courageously confront the memories that haunt us. Together, we dive deep into the layers of the traumatic incident, examining it from various angles and perspectives. With each session, we gain a greater understanding and acceptance of what we have endured, gradually unravelling the distress and negative impact that trauma has had on our lives.
